No one is answering me

No one is answering me, it’s outrageous ! [1]

You posted a very interesting question to the list, you need the answer urgently, and your message is ignored, whereas with other uninteresting messages you receive many answers.

I didn’t receive a single answer

Here are the explanations found most frequently on the Web or Usenet, to help you figure out which might correspond best to your situation.

-  All the subscribers are on holiday or gone for the weekend

-  The answer to your question is regularly posted to this discussion list, was even posted yesterday, and you perhaps did not look at the answers or did not use the search engine on the archives.

-  None of the (volunteer) list readers knows the answer.

-  The person who knows the answer is on holiday, or is tired, or does not want to answer, or his/her computer is down, or he/she has too much work to do.

-  No law obliges the readers to either read or reply to you.

-  Your question is too vague, too fuzzy, and needs to be a bit more precise.

-  You have behaved badly on this list in the past.

-  You posted your message in the middle of a fascinating discussion that enthralled the other contributors and they did not think to go back later and reread your question.

-  You never have any luck.

What to do ?

Repost your question after two or three days, taking care not to put any aggressiveness in it, but instead, a nice note.
