I sent a message to the list but the server sent it back without web-casting it on the list :-( Why ??
Several possibilities:
You are not subscribed to this list, (re-)subscribe
You thought you were subscribed, because you just did the registration procedure, but in fact you are not yet, because the list in question is configured in such a way that the moderator must approve your inscription. Hold on; you are nearly there.
You are subscribed to the list, but with another e-mail address. Well, the server is uncompromising; you absolutely must write from the address under which you subscribed to be able to post on the list. That is the way it is.
Meanwhile, if you really must post from several addresses (e.g. one from home and one from work) all you have to do is subscribe both addresses, and so as not to receive messages twice, configure one of your accounts to mode "no_mail"
Your e-mail with your message contained an attachment (= contains file = attachment). In most cases, it will be a picture or a Word file. No need to panic; in any case; the e-mail will not be passed to the list. BUT: to share a file (a picture or other) with all the list subscribers, you have a rendezvous with your list website; click on the short menu on the left, on the link marked "Documents" and follow the guidelines.
The size of your message is over the limit fixed by the list-owner. Generally, for security reasons (and in particular to stop viruses being transmitted) the limit is set in the range of 15 to 60Kb, which is sufficient for 99, 95% of messages posted on a mailing list.
All the same, you checked and your message is less than 15Kb. Yes, but... have you carefully checked whether your e-mail software has been configured to send e-mails in HTML format ? If that is the case, then your software will send e-mails two to five times "heavier", because the HTML code really "weighs" heavy. So, you need to carefully tick the little option box "send e-mails in HTML"
The list address you wanted to write to is wrong; check it
Your message has not really been rejected but simply moderated; you can refer to the page consecrated to the subject "Your message has been transmitted to a moderator"
